Dr. Canida has co-authored and presented numerous publications and presentations addressing the importance of diversity in academe, the workplace, cultural competency, and organizational change.

Dr. Canida has earned degrees from Xavier University (BS), the University of Kentucky (Masters), and North Carolina A&T State University (Ph.D.).

“Robert brings with him a wealth of experience and connections,” says current board Secretary and founding member Julia Latham. “We are especially excited about Robert’s expertise and background in supporting and encouraging diversity across systems. As we look forward to expanding our Safe Zones project in support of LGBTQ young people, we could not have a better partner on board.”

The mission of Sandhills PRIDE is to unite, celebrate, and serve LGBTQ people, their allies, and sister organizations by providing social engagement, service, education, and leadership in the Sandhills region of North Carolina.
