The Moore County Sheriff’s Office has scheduled a Citizen’s Academy starting March 5th.

This is the fifth year the eight week academy has been scheduled. Classes will meet each Monday night from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Rick Rhyne Public Safety Center, 302 S. McNeill Street in Carthage.  Graduation from the academy will be held on April 23rd.

Participants will learn the rules, regulations and policies deputies are required to follow on-duty.

Applicants must be 18 years and older, be in reasonably good health, and pass a background check.  Applications must be turned in by mail or delivered in person at the Safety Center no later than February 19th.
