Sheriff warns scam targeting residents

Sheriff Neil Godfrey is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for two separate home invasions in Moore County.

Although the Sheriff’s Office has been working diligently to solve these cases, they are asking for help from the public.

History of Investigations:

In December of 2017 an elderly man was attacked in his home on Mt. Carmel Road in Robbins and robbed at gunpoint. The Moore County Sheriff’s Office made four arrests but believes that the case may be related to the January 2018 home invasion, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

In January of 2018, an elderly woman was attacked in her home off of Highway 24/27 in Carthage and robbed at gunpoint; there were at least two assailants.

The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the individuals responsible for these heinous crimes.
