A shooting in Aberdeen Sunday evening leaves one man dead, and police are searching for the shooter.

Aberdeen Police Deputy Chief Carl Colasacco identified the victim as Lashun “Sean” Brower, age 23.

Brower was fatally shot at his home in the 100 block of Meredith Drive off of Keyser Street around 10:00 p.m. The shooter fled the area.

Southern Pines Police responded with a K9 unit to aid in the search for the suspect but was unsuccessful. Authorities do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence.

Brower was transported to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital by EMS but died shortly after arrival. 

Brower had attended Union Pines High School and went on to play basketball for two years at Wentworth Military Academy. While at Wentworth, Brower was named USCAA “National Player of the Week” and NJCAA Region 16 “Player of the Year”.
