A multi-agency operation has yielded the arrest of two suspects from Southern Pines.

An investigation with the Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Aberdeen Police Department, and Southern Pines Police Department led officials to arrest Thomas Hockaday, 62, and Montressa Alston, 28.

The pair were charged Wednesday with felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, felony larceny, felony financial card theft, obtaining property by false pretense, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

During the investigation, “Sheriff’s deputies became aware that the victim’s credit cards were used at multiple locations throughout Moore and Hoke Counties,” said Sheriff Godfrey.

Hockaday’s bond was set at $37,000 and Alston was placed under a $25,000 bond.  The suspects have a district court date on October 9 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
