Moore County Schools released a video of what the future Pinehurst Elementary School will look like. The new school will replace the aging and existing school on the same site, said Moore County Schools.

The two-story school, which will serve 800 students, is scheduled to begin construction in June 2019.  The school is expected to open to students in August 2021.

Beginning in 2019, students will be attending classes in modular buildings at Rassie Wicker Park until the new school is completed.

“The construction of the new school will require relocating students to a temporary location for two years while demolition and construction is performed,” said Moore County Schools.

Moore County voters approved a bond referendum in May that will fund the school.
