The Town of Robbins announced on their Facebook page that a tornado touched down at 3:30 Friday afternoon.
The tornado hit outside of Robbins near Brown Mill Road/Jasper Road knocking down power lines and trees.
The town warned residents ‘not to explore tornado damage.’
“More bad weather is coming,” said the town. “Stay safe and make a plan in case more tornado issues arise.”
Trees are also reported down on Plank Road and Cockman Road and flooding on Plank and Middleton Street/North Moore Road.
Randolph Electric said over 800 northern Moore County residents are without power.
The National Weather Service has extended the tornado watch until 8 p.m. Friday evening.
The Town of Robbins advised residents to stay home and off the roads.
