Two people were injured after their truck overturned on North May Street around 11:30 p.m. Friday night.
The driver of a white Toyota Tacoma pickup lost control of the vehicle and rolled the truck over coming to rest upside down in the road.
The call was initially paged as an entrapment, but emergency crews had no difficulty extricating the two victims from the wreckage. Both victims were assessed by EMS at the scene and then transported to Firsthealth Moore Regional for definitive care.
Both lanes of North May Street were shut down while crews worked to clear the scene. The State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Southern Pines Police Department, and NC Highway Patrol.
