Village seeks volunteers for the Neighborhood Advisory Committee

The Village of Pinehurst has announced the launch of Engage Pinehurst, a new online engagement forum where residents are invited to leave feedback on current projects the Village is rolling out. This new platform replaces the previously used Open Village Hall.

Engage Pinehurst is designed to make it easy for Village residents to get involved, participate in community decisions, and provide ideas and feedback on a variety of topics affecting our community. Through this new tool, Village staff and Council will listen to resident feedback, provide timely project updates, and report back to the community about how their feedback has contributed to decisions being made.

It’s simple to be a part – go to www.engage.vopnc.org and click the “Register” button on the right side of the page. A quick sign up will enable residents to provide comments and suggestions.

“We applaud the Village of Pinehurst for taking this step towards developing a greater connection with the community it serves”, said Matt Crozier, CEO and co-founder of Bang the Table, provider of the online engagement platform. “More and more, we find governments that successfully engage their communities on projects are able to make better and more thoughtful, citizen-involved decisions.” The first project the Village is asking for input on is called “Let’s Talk Budget”.

Here, residents are invited to comment on and ask questions about the Village’s proposed 2020 Strategic
Operating Plan, which includes the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Budget and the Five-year Financial Forecast.

In addition to leaving feedback on the Engage Pinehurst site, residents are invited to attend any of the following public meetings regarding the FY 2020 Budget:

• Village Council Budget Work Session on Thursday, May 23 at 2:00pm in the Council
Conference Room at Village Hall,

• Village Council Budget Work Session on Friday, May 24 at 2:00pm in the Council
Conference Room at Village Hall, and

• Public Hearing on the FY 2020 Budget at the Village Council meeting on Tuesday, May
28 at 4:30pm.

“We believe resident feedback is so important that we provide multiple avenues for it – from our Community Survey, to public meetings and online platforms”, said Village Manager Jeff Sanborn. “We’ve sought online engagement from Village residents since 2015, beginning with Open Village Hall. We made the switch to the Engage Pinehurst format because it is more user-friendly, making it easier for residents to leave their feedback and questions. We’re excited about this new opportunity to interact with residents online and encourage everyone to register at www.engage.vopnc.org.”
