Aberdeen man sentenced to 8 years for felony death by motor vehicle in DWI crash

North Carolina Highway Patrol says two girls from Vass were killed in a wreck Tuesday on 15-501 at the Hoke/Scotland County line bridge. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m.

Jennalynn Faith Duckworth, 13, and her sister, Audra Elizabeth Duckworth, 11, of Sundown Drive, died at the scene.

Their parents, Bobby and Audra Duckworth, as well as their brother Benjamin, were also inside the vehicle when it crashed. They were transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The 2004 Ford Excursion was driving southbound on 15-501 when it struck the cement guardrail at the bridge and overturned, coming to rest in the northbound lane.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the exact cause of the accident.
