Daniel Ducker, MSS. M. Ed., Director of Fayetteville NC VA Coastal Health Care System will be the featured speaker at this year’s Veterans’ Day program at the Moore County Veterans Memorial, Carriage Oaks Shopping Center, Route 15-501 in Carthage, on Saturday, November 2 at 11 AM.

Mr. Ducker has had extensive experience in administering VA facilities, including recent short-term service as Acting Deputy Network Director for VA Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN6) in Durham, NC and Interim Medical Center Director for VA Maine Health Care System —Togus, in August, Maine.

Mr. Ducker served in the U.S. Army for more than 33 years, beginning his military service in April 1983 as a Patient Administrative Specialist in the Iowa Army National Guard before earning a commission as a Second Lieutenant in 1986 through the University of Northern Iowa’s (UNI) ROTC program. 

He retired in April 2017 at the rank of Colonel. 

He received numerous awards during his military service including the Legion of Merit for his outstanding work on the Department of Army’s Medical Boarding process for Reserve Soldiers and the Bronze Star for his leadership and meritorious service in combat while serving as a commander in Afghanistan.

The program will also include the presentation of the colors by Union Pines NJROTC, patriotic music by the Pathways Band, laying of wreaths by various veteran and other organizations, recognitions and remembrances, luncheon refreshments, camaraderie and more!
