Two people are facing drug charges after a search warrant was executed, according to a news release issued by Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

Desmond Tyrone Cheatham, 33, and Catherine Lashay Cheatham, 43, both from Jackson Springs, were arrested Monday.

Moore County Sheriff’s Department and the Moore County Probation and Parole searched a residence on Foxtail Lane in Jackson Springs.

Authorities found marijuana, MDMA/Ecstasy, marijuana paraphernalia, drug paraphernalia, and $1870 in cash in the home.

The release estimated the seized drugs to be $390.

Stolen property from a larceny that occurred in Carthage February was recovered at the home.

Desmond Tyrone Cheatham was charged with possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintain vehicle/dwell/place controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of stolen goods. His bond was set at $100,000.

Catherine Lashay Cheatham was charged with possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintain vehicle/dwell/place controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed under a $50,000 unsecured bond.

Both suspects are due in court on April 22, and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
