The driver and passenger of a Ford Focus were later taken to First Health Moore Regional as a precaution.

Both vehicles suffered major damage. The SUV flipped before landing upright off the road.

The accident caused a portion of N. Howard Mill Road from Smyrna Church Road to Acorn Ridge Road to be closed for about two hours.

N.C. State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Robbins Fire and Rescue, Highfalls Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and State Highway Patrol.
