3 arrested in motor vehicle breaking and entering case

Three teenagers were arrested in connection to a motor vehicle breaking and entering case, said Southern Pines Police Department in a press release.

“The Southern Pines Police Department Investigation Division conducted follow-up investigations after a series of Motor Vehicle Breaking/Entering Incidents,” said the department. “Various items of property were stolen from vehicles, which included 3 firearms, firearms accessories and ammunition, military equipment, tools and money. During the investigative process, investigators identified three suspects involved in these incidents.”

Jadin Baker, 19, Christopher Moore, 18, both of Southern Pines, and an unnamed 17-year-old juvenile were recently arrested.

Baker and Moore are each facing charges of five counts of felony break or enter a motor vehicle, three counts of felony larceny of a firearm, three counts of felony possession of a stolen firearm, one count of felony possession of stolen property, two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen property, one count of felony larceny, three counts of misdemeanor larceny, one count of felony financial card theft, and four counts of felony conspiracy.

“A 17-year-old Juvenile will be charged with crimes associated with this incident through the juvenile court system,” said the department.

The news release did not state where the crimes occurred in Southern Pines.

The suspects have court dates in Moore and Montgomery counties and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
