Hobgood, Duerson, Pierce

Three local individuals were arrested Friday on breaking and entering charges.

Arrested were Barry Michael Hobgood, 32, of Cameron, Kelly Rae Duerson, 32, of Cameron, and Joseph Robert Pierce, 33, of Cameron, according to a news advisory from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

The five break-ins occurred in Cameron and Carthage between September 27 and October 2. All three suspects were arrested in Lee County.

“Almost all of the property reported stolen in these cases has been recovered and returned to our citizens,” said the advisory. “At the time of this report, multiple items are being processed and more charges are expected for all three suspects.”

Hobgood, Duerson, and Pierce were each charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering, four counts of felony larceny, four counts of felony possession of stolen goods, two counts of felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, one count of misdemeanor larceny and one count of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. All three suspects have been placed under $75,000 secured bonds.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation and arrests.

They are due in court on October 24 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
