Three people, including a small child, escaped serious injury in a rollover crash Sunday, near Whispering Pines.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Camp Easter Road and Niagara-Carthage Road just before 4 p.m.

A Honda sedan collided with a Ford Fusion sending the Fusion off the side of the road, striking a fence and overturning on Niagara- Carthage Road.

The child was a passenger in the Ford Fusion.  The Honda Sedan came to rest just off the side of the roadway on Camp Easter Road.

All the occupants were being examined at the scene with two possibly being transported to the hospital.

The N.C. Highway Patrol was on the scene and investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Whispering Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Highway Patrol.
