Two Aberdeen businesses were damaged by fire Saturday morning. The fire was located in Magnolia Square, just behind Tidal Wave Auto Spa. The fire was reported at approximately 9:40 a.m.
When fire crews arrived, smoke and flames were showing from an area between Bliss Salon and Integrative Psychiatry & Psychotherapy.
An employee came in to see a client when they saw the fire and called 911. Numerous fire units responded and were quickly on the scene. The fire was knocked down and contained within a very short time.
There was extensive damage to Bliss Salon and the area between the two businesses. A fire official noted that firewalls between the businesses were a critical component that delayed the spread of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Responding to the fire were units from Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Pinehurst Fire & Rescue, and Fort Bragg Fire Department. Also responding were Moore County Public Safety and Aberdeen Police Department.
