The Aberdeen Christmas Parade scheduled for Saturday has been canceled.

Aberdeen Parks and Recreation Department announced Friday afternoon that “due to the extreme weather forecast for tomorrow, including freezing temperatures and precipitation, we have decided not to hold the Aberdeen Christmas Parade.”

The town said after investigating several different scenarios for rescheduling the parade, they determined the best course of action was to cancel it.

The town went on to say, “We deeply regret having to make this decision; however, the safety and health of our participants and spectators are much more important. We were looking forward to our best year yet, and we want to thank all of our participants who were committed to making that happen. We hope that everyone will join us again next year and that everyone has a safe and joyous holiday season!”
