A multi-agency operation has yielded the arrest of an Aberdeen man.

Sheriff Godfrey said in a news release that Calvin Jamar York, 27, from the 800 block of Harris Street, was arrested Thursday when law enforcement conducted a consent-search of a hotel room occupied by York.

As a result of the search, deputies seized:  58 grams of cocaine, 11 grams of marijuana, items of drug paraphernalia and $180 in cash. The total street value of the seized drugs is approximately $4,140, according to the news release.

Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Moore County Probation and Parole, and Southern Pines Police Department all participated in the operation.

York was charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled-substance, possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule VI controlled-substance, maintaining a dwelling for the storage of a controlled-substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and the possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.

York was also served with outstanding warrants for possession of firearm by convicted felon and a felony probation violation.

York was placed in the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $300,000 secured bond. York has a June 12th court date and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
