Aberdeen Police Department announced on its Facebook page Friday there’s been several vehicle break-ins and attempted break-ins. They’re asking the community to report any suspicious activity immediately.

“We are encouraging you to call and notify The Aberdeen Police Department if you see ANYTHING suspicious,” said the department. We urge you to notify us as early as possible. If you live in the Town of Aberdeen, make sure to call 911 even if it isn’t an emergency. The Aberdeen Police Department is dispatched through the 911 Center, 24 hours a day. This is the quickest way to get an officer to respond. If you have any surveillance footage that could have useful information, let us know.”

The department recently started a safety campaign on social media called the #9PMRoutine. Every evening at 9 p.m., they share a picture of a celebrity or a funny photograph reminding everyone to lock their cars and homes.

“We share the #9PMRoutine as a fun reminder to our community to lock up each night and help to deter and reduce the number of break-ins,” said the department.

Anonymous information about suspicious activity in Aberdeen can also be made by calling the Anonymous Tip Line at 910-944-4561.

There’s been numerous car break-ins in Pinehurst as well.

The Village of Pinehurst recently announced on its Facebook page that the police department is currently investigating multiple break-ins that have occurred in Village Acres, specifically on Longleaf Drive. 

The Village is asking anyone who has surveillance footage, information, or if your vehicle has been broken into, to please call the police department at 910-295-3781. You may leave anonymous information by calling the crime tip line at 910-420-1654.
