Highway 211 was shut down for an hour after a crash at Sawgrass Road in Eagle Springs on Friday night. 

N.C. State Highway Patrol tells Sandhills Sentinel a Ford Taurus was traveling southbound on Highway 211 and was attempting to turn left onto Sawgrass Road. A Chevy Tahoe was also traveling southbound and rear-ended the Taurus.

The impact forced the Taurus off the opposite side of the road facing northbound. The back window of the Taurus was shattered, and glass was spread throughout the roadway.

Accident shuts down part of Highway 211

The two front passengers in the Taurus were uninjured, however, the passenger in the rear seat was taken to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. The single occupant of the Tahoe was uninjured, but his family took him to the hospital to be checked out.

The driver of the Tahoe was charged with failure to reduce speed. 

Responding to the scene were Eagle Springs Fire Department, West End Fire Department, Seven Lakes Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Public Safety, and N.C. State Highway Patrol.
