Southern Pines Police made an arrest in the shooting that occurred July 17 at Creston Commons Apartments in Southern Pines, behind Dairy Queen.
Trez Allah Shon Farmer, 20, of Southern Pines, was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with Intent to kill Inflicting serious injury.
“The suspect was taken in custody in Fayetteville with the assistance of the Fayetteville Police and the SBI,” said Southern Pines Police Capt. Charles Campbell. Campbell also advised this “was not a random act of violence. The victim and shooter knew each other.”
The victim has not been identified. At the time of the shooting, the male victim was transported to Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. There are no updates available on his condition.
The suspect is being held in the Moore County Detention Center under a $200,000 secure bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 25 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
