Plan your Moore County area 4th of July festivities with this list of free and cheap July 4th events. These events include fireworks, parades, concerts, and more.

July 3:

~Village of Pinehurst Fourthfest includes free concert and fireworks celebration at the Pinehurst Harness Track. Gates open at 4 p.m. for parking.  Family activities which includes video game trailer, bounce houses, entertainment and dancing begins at 6 p.m.  Stick around for fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

A large selection of food and beverages will be available for purchase, and picnic baskets are also allowed. Don’t forget your lawn chairs and blankets.

Food Trucks: JAM Ice Cream, The Market Place, Jason’s Mini Donuts, Berri Bowlful, Chirba Chirba Dumpling, What’s Fore Lunch, Fully Loaded Fritters, One Nine Drive, 13th Taco, Rome N’ Round & Meat and Greek.

~Pinehurst Resort Freedom Fest fun is from 5 – 10 p.m. Activities include amusements, games, fireworks, a southern BBQ buffet, and live entertainment.

Amusements 5 – 9 p.m.

DJ Dylan Matthews pre-concert  5 – 6:45 p.m.

Departure Band 7 – 9 p.m.

July 4:

~Fourthfest Parade in the Village & Pet Contest is free and is from 10 a.m. – noon.

James W. Tufts Memorial Park, 1 Village Green Rd. West, Pinehurst.

~Carthage Rotary 4th of July Parade is free and begins at 11 a.m. at Quality Equipment, travels down Monroe Street, and ends around the courthouse circle.

~Whispering Pines 4th of July Parade is free and begins at 2 p.m. at the parking lot of the Country Club of Whispering Pines. Parade will go around Spring Valley Lake and end at Thagard Lake Park. At Thagard Lake Park there will be games, music, boat rides, ice cream and cold drinks.

~ Aberdeen Fun Family Fourth of July is from 5 – 10 p.m. The evening will include live entertainment, food vendors, and activities for all ages. Admission to the park is free and children can purchase a $5.00 wristband, which allows them unlimited access to the rock climbing wall, inflatable slide, bounce houses, obstacle course, and much more. Grab your blankets and lawn chairs and bring family and friends to enjoy one of the largest and most exciting fireworks displays in the area.

~Fort Bragg 4th of July Celebration featuring the band 3 Doors Down is free and begins at 3 p.m with opening act and fireworks start at 10 p.m.

Main Post Parade Field located at 25 Capron Street.

~July 4 is Free Fishing Day in North Carolina. From 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m., everyone in North Carolina can fish for free in any public body of water, including coastal waters, without having to purchase a fishing license or additional trout fishing privilege.
