Back in November, Cooper McCrimmon delivered a box of chocolate bars to the Southern Pines Police Department.  It was his way of saying thank you to the first responders who keep our community safe.

McCrimmon is a member of Pinecrest High School’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program(JRROTC).  The program was selling candy bars to raise money for overseas troops.  McCrimmon had no idea what was coming next after thanking the Southern Pines Police Department.

Pinecrest High School was holding the ROTC’s “Commanders Call” meeting on December 19th.  Southern Pines Police Chief, Bob Temme, attended the meeting and surprised Cadet McCrimmon with his own “thank you”.

Chief Temme presented Cadet McCrimmon with a Southern Pines Police Chief’s coin and an engraved department flashlight.

“During a time when law enforcement is being criticized, it is refreshing to be appreciated,” said Chief Temme on social media.  “Thank you, Cooper McCrimmon, for being a fine upstanding young man.”
