Pinehurst’s own, Captain Jennifer Thompson, was awarded a scholarship from the North Carolina State Firefighters’ Association (NCSFA).
The NCSFA selected only six firefighters statewide from a competitive applicant pool to continue their education in pursuit of a two year degree from any regionally accredited college.
Thompson is completing her associate degree at Durham Tech in Fire Protection Technology.
Fire Chief Carlton stated he was extremely honored to announce Thompson was awarded the scholarship to the Pinehurst Fire Department and the Village.
