Carthage man facing drug, firearm charges

A 63-year-old man from Carthage is facing five drug charges and three firearm charges after being arrested by deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.

According to information from Sheriff Ronnie Fields, Robert Lee was arrested on Sept. 29. after law enforcement found cocaine, three firearms, and drug paraphernalia at the end of a drug investigation. 

“Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Leake Street in Carthage,” said Fields.

The suspect was placed under a $5,000 secured bond at the Moore County Detention Center and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Lee is due in court on Oct. 14 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
