Carthage woman charged with disturbing grave markers

A woman from Carthage was arrested and charged with disturbing grave markers. Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of Jasmine Frye, 34, following an investigation.

Frye is accused of vandalizing several grave markers at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church in Carthage on Tuesday.

Moore County Sheriff Deputies arrived at the church to find “multiple grave markers, windows, and other miscellaneous items on the church property” damaged. After an investigation, Frye was located and arrested on 12 charges to include 10 counts of felony disturbing grave markers, one count of misdemeanor injury to real property, and one count of littering.

The suspect is under a $25,000 secured bond at the Moore County Detention Center. She has a court date on March 3 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
