Christmas For Moore to host information session

Christmas For Moore, a local nonprofit dedicated to serving residents of Moore County in need during the holiday season, is celebrating Christmas in July with its first information session. The group invites all who may be interested in volunteering or learning more about the program to register to attend on Saturday, July 30 at The Village Chapel Care Cottage, located at 55 Community Road, Pinehurst, from 9:30-11 a.m.

“Our board would love the opportunity to thank all of our Christmas For Moore volunteers—past, present and future—as well as those who might like to learn more about our programming or becoming a sponsor, to join us for our first information session,” said Eleanora Voelkel, chair of the group.

Community participation through sponsorships and donations supported more than 1,600 program participants in 2021 with gifts of clothing, toys, household items and food, and the group anticipates an equivalent or greater need this year.

“Our Christmas For Moore sponsors, donors and volunteers make our mission possible each year, and we look forward to meeting those who can attend and celebrate Christmas in July with us with food, fellowship and door prizes,” Voelkel adds.
