Counterfeit money is being passed around in Southern Pines, according to a news release from the Southern Pines Police Department.

 SPPD is looking for a white female, 25-35 years of age, wearing a black tank top and a red skirt.  

The woman used a $100 counterfeit bill to make a payment for items at Lowes Foods located on Brucewood Road in Southern Pines on June 26th at 5:30 pm. After passing the counterfeit money, the female left the parking lot as a passenger in an older model pickup truck which was red with a white camper top.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Southern Pines Police Department at 910-692-7031. Information can also be left anonymously and confidentially, by leaving a message on the department’s Crime Tip Line at 910-673-4110. Callers providing information do not need to identify themselves and will not be contacted, according to the news release.
