Ritter won't run for reelection

Moore County Board of Commissioners released their August 7 meeting highlights.

~Approved on consent agenda: minutes, budget amendments, acceptance of deeds of
dedication for Sandhills Classical Christian School and for Buckholz Enterprises, Health
Department bad debt write-off, Health Department grant application, Board Order for Bed &
Breakfast Conditional Use Permit.

~Tabled a public hearing regarding a conditional rezoning request for a parcel on HWY 211.

~ Approved agreement with NCDOT for roadside litter/debris removal.

~ Awarded bid for purchase of restroom/shower trailers for Public Safety to AMS Global, Inc.

~ Adopted resolution providing for the sale and issuance of not to exceed $31,000,000 General
Obligation School Bonds, Series 2018, and adopted resolution declaring intent to reimburse
expenditures under United States Department of Treasury Regulations for the Community
College Bonds.

~ Authorized negotiation of contract for architect services for new courthouse project.

~ Approved resolution calling a special advisory referendum concerning the levy of a one quarter
cent county sales and use tax, and approved a resolution designating the revenues from the tax,
if passed on November 6, 2018, to Moore County Schools capital construction projects.

~ Appointed Don Delauter to the Airport Authority.

~ Reappointed Joanna King and Susan Zucchino to the Library Board.

~ Reappointed David Lambert to the Planning Board.
