Two new COVID-19 outbreaks have been identified at long-term care facilities in Moore County.

The Moore County Health Department has been notified of confirmed positive COVID-19 test results for four staff members and one resident of Peak Resources Pinelake located in Carthage. One staff member and one resident of The Greens at Pinehurst have also tested positive.

A positive staff member at Peak Resources Pinelake was originally identified on July 24, which prompted testing for all residents and staff of the facility the following week.

The positive test results for the three other staff members and one resident were generated from that testing. Re-testing for Peak Resources Pinelake staff and residents began August 6.

Testing for all residents and staff of The Greens at Pinehurst will begin on August 10.

These two newest long-term care outbreaks push Moore County’s total to six since the pandemic began. In long-term care or congregate living settings, a COVID-19 outbreak is defined as two or more laboratory-confirmed cases.
