Crains Creek FD responds to overturned vehicle

Crains Creek Fire Department responded to a car that overturned in a crash on Thursday.

The crash occurred in Vass near the intersection of Lobelia Road and McGill Road shortly after 7 a.m., said Crains Creek Fire Department on its FB page.

The car overturned and landed in the woods with a tree falling on top of the flipped car. 

The occupant was trapped in the car, said Crains Creek Fire Department.

When Crains Creek Fire Department arrived on scene to find the individual trapped in the vehicle, crews called Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue to assist.

“The patent was removed and placed on a backboard to be transported by EMS,” said Crains Creek Fire Department.

Air Care was called but could not fly to the scene. 

“Good team work by all, including bystanders that assist with holding flash lights till other responders arrived,” said Crains Creek Fire Department.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.

Other agencies responding to the scene included Moore County Sheriff’s Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and Moore County EMS.
