A motorist traveling in Southern Pines Monday morning crashed and the rear of the car was stuck on a tree.
The single vehicle accident happened just before 11:00 a.m. on the corner of Highway 22 and Fairway Drive leaving the driver entrapped as the Ford Focus’ rear tires were suspended off the ground.
Emergency crews braced the vehicle as they cut the passenger door from the car to extract the driver who was transported to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Authorities did not release the victim’s name or condition.
Highway 22 was closed as Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Police, and Moore County EMS controlled the scene.
