Crews respond to two accidents on Lobelia Road Thursday

Crews with Crains Creek Fire Department responded to two separate car accidents on Lobelia Road in Vass Thursday.

The first page to emergency responders came in as a water rescue around 3 p.m. When crews arrived on scene on Lobelia Road, near McGill Road, a car was in a creek with the driver inside the vehicle, said Crains Creek Fire Department on its Facebook page.

“A ladder was placed at the door window and the driver assisted out the window and across the ladder to safety,” said Crains Creek Fire Department.

Moore County EMS transported the driver with minor injuries to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The fire department did not state how the car ended up in the creek.

Around nine hours later, there was another accident in the 4600 block of Lobelia Road that occurred just before 11:30 p.m.

“Upon arrival our Chief found car versus tractor trailer,” said Crains Creek Fire Department on its Facebook page. “Luckily the driver of both vehicles were ok and EMS backed down to routine traffic.”

The fire department did not state the cause of this accident.
