Deputies arrest Lexington man on drug charges in Cameron

A 30-year-old Lexington man is facing several charges following a traffic stop on Aug. 1.

Justin Phillippi was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $3,500 secured bond and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, fictitious registration card/tag, said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a news statement.

Phillippi also had an outstanding order for arrest out of Moore County.

“Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 1600 block of U.S. Highway 1 Business in Cameron,” said Fields. “During the traffic stop, Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, Deputies located methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia.”

Phillippi is due in court on Sept. 1.

Suspects facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
