Deputies make arrest after drug investigation

A 43-year-old woman from Eagle Springs is facing drug charges after being arrested by deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Ronnie Fields says August Shavers was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond on six charges.

“On February 22, 2023, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 9800 block of NC Highway 705 in Eagle Springs,” said Fields in a news statement. “During the investigation, Deputies located cocaine, marijuana, buprenorphine, naloxone, items of drug paraphernalia, and items of marijuana paraphernalia. The search warrant was executed at the conclusion of a drug investigation.”

Shavers is facing charges of felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, simple possession of schedule III controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

The suspect is due in court on March 22 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
