Deputies seize heroin, meth during investigation

Deputies seized heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia during an investigation, announced Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

“On December 16th, 2021, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals at the conclusion of a lengthy drug investigation,” said Fields. “The arrests were made in the 4100 block of NC Highway 211 in West End.”

Arrested were Cordero Steele, 26, and Antonio Hill Jr., 25, both from Candor.

Steele was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance, Sell Schedule I Controlled Substance, Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance, Possession of Heroin, Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Sell, Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Deliver, Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Transport, 4 counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, 4 counts of Sell Schedule II Controlled Substance, 4 counts of Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, 4 counts of Possession of Methamphetamine, 4 counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Sell, 4 counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Deliver, 4 counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Transport, 4 counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Possession, 3 counts of Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling Place for Controlled Substances, Possession of Marijuana greater than ½ ounce to 1 ½ ounce, Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, and 3 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bond was set at $350,000.

Hill Jr. was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Sell Schedule II Controlled Substance, Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Possession, Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Sell, Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Deliver, Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Transport, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling Place for Controlled Substance, Possess Marijuana greater than ½ ounce to 1 ½ ounce, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bond was set at $150,000.

Suspects are scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on January 6, 2022, and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
