Moore County man charged with murder

A man from Biscoe is facing a charge of first-degree murder, according to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

Moore County Sheriff’s Department arrested Craig Hicks on Thursday immediately after the shooting. 

Authorities were called to a home in the 500 block of Sings Creek Lane in Biscoe shortly after 4 p.m. 

“Upon arriving deputies discovered Michael Gluck, age 52, who had been shot,” said Fields in a press release. According to radio traffic, the man was shot in the abdomen. 

A landing zone was set up at Highway 24-27 and Big Oak Church Road in Eagle Springs for a helicopter to transport the victim to a trauma center. CPR was performed at the landing zone according to radio traffic. However, Gluck was taken to Moore Regional Hospital instead.

“Gluck was transported to Moore Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” said Fields. “Sheriff’s investigators located and detained the shooter, Craig Timothy Hicks, age 57, on scene. It was determined that the shooting occurred following an altercation between Gluck and Hicks, who both resided at the residence on Sings Creek Lane”

Hicks was booked at the Moore County Detention Center at 8:44 p.m., according to Moore County Detention Center. He is being held without bond. The suspect is due in court on Feb. 23 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
