An alleged domestic dispute between a driver and passenger caused a car to flip on Bethesda Road just outside the Aberdeen city limits New Year’s morning. The 911 call came in just after 9:30 a.m. Monday morning advising the caller had been in an accident after being assaulted.

A Moore County Deputy talking with NC State Highway Patrol

Emergency crews and law enforcement arrived to find a vehicle overturned at the edge of the road and the female sitting in the car of a good Samaritan that had stopped at the accident. The male involved was waiting near the overturned car.

EMS examined both individuals, and the male was transported to the hospital for further treatment while Aberdeen Fire & Rescue remained on the scene for traffic control. The NC State Highway Patrol and Moore County Sheriff’s Department were on the scene investigating the alleged assault and ensuing accident.

Community Towing removing the vehicle

The names of the people involved in the alleged dispute and accident weren’t immediately released by the authorities. 

Responding to the accident were Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, the NC State Highway Patrol, and Community Towing.
