A driver involved in a single-vehicle accident near Robbins was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday.
A firefighter came upon the accident on Highway 705, near Oscar Road, just after 3:30 p.m.
It appeared the driver of a Toyota pickup truck hauling a trailer with a four-wheeler ran off the road hitting and knocking down several trees before coming to a stop in the road, according to officials on scene.
A four-wheeler was in the woods after an accident in Robbins on Sept. 7.
One tree fell into the road and had to be cut and moved by Robbins Fire and Rescue. Debris could be seen scattered in the tree line. The four-wheeler was standing vertical against several trees. The exact cause is being investigated by the State Highway Patrol.
Firefighters treated the patient until EMS arrived. Moore County EMS transported the patient to a landing zone, which was set up in a field at the accident. The male driver was airlifted to an area trauma center. The extent of his injuries was unknown but appeared to be non-life threatening.

Highway 705 was closed at Oscar Road to Browns Mill Road for nearly an hour and a half. Robbins Police Department and Moore County Sheriff’s Office was on scene to assist with the accident.
