Driver and cow suffer injuries in Robbins accident

A driver and a cow suffered injuries in an accident Monday.

Just before 7:30 p.m., authorities were called to the 800 block of Lakey Siding Road about 2 miles outside of Robbins to a “single-vehicle accident versus a cow.”

The driver was heading toward North Moore Road when they stuck the cow and ran off the road into a wooded area. There were two occupants in the car.

The driver was taken to Moore Regional Hospital with minor injuries. The passenger had no injuries.

The small cow is believed to have a broken leg but is expected to be ok. Authorities stayed with the cow until the owner arrived.

Responding to the scene were Robbins Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Moore County Sheriff’s Department.
