A driver escaped serious injury after a rollover accident on U.S. Highway 1 in Pinebluff Friday. The accident occurred at 9:50 p.m. just north of the intersection with Current Street.

The driver of the Dodge Durango lost control of the vehicle and ran off the side of the road into the median. The vehicle struck several trees and flipped over.

The driver of the SUV was able to walk to the ambulance where he was evaluated by paramedics and then transported to Firsthealth Moore Regional with non-life threatening injuries.

One northbound lane was shut down for an extended period of time.

N.C. Highway Patrol was on the scene and will be investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the accident were Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Pinebluff Police, and N.C. Highway Patrol.
