A women escaped serious injury Wednesday night when she lost control of her car and struck a tree. The accident occurred in the 2800 block of Linden Rd just off Hwy 5 in Aberdeen, near Lowery Lane.
The car went off the roadway and struck a lamp post in a yard. It then traveled across the driveway where it slammed into a tree and came to rest on its side.
The female driver was out of the vehicle when first responders arrived on the scene. EMS responded to the scene, but the victim was not transported to the hospital for care.
The silver Volkswagon suffered extensive damage in the accident. The NC Highway Patrol arrived on the scene and will be investigating.
Responding to the accident were Pinehurst Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Pinehurst Police Department, and the NC Highway Patrol.
