Contract workers will be switching out electric meters for Aberdeen residents announced the Town of Aberdeen on Facebook Wednesday.

Duke Energy has contracted with Scope Services to complete the meter exchange program.  The project is expected to last a couple of months.

Before technicians begin work, postcards will be sent to residents with information about the program.

The utility workers will knock on residents’ doors before beginning work to identify themselves.

The workers will be wearing vests, and their work trucks will be labeled and have operational strobe lights, making it easy for residents to identify them.

The technicians will be working Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
