An Eagle Springs man was arrested for assault of an unborn child and possession of a weapon of mass destruction, according to information from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
Gene Burton, Jr, 42, was charged on Friday afternoon with one count of assault of an unborn child, one count of assault on a female, one count of assault by pointing a gun, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of possession of a weapon of mass destruction.
Burton was placed in the Moore County Detention Center under a 75,000 secured bond. Burton has a January 28th court date.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
