An early Saturday morning fire destroyed a Moore County home. The call came in around 7 a.m. from the 2200 block of Old Glendon Road, about a mile outside of Carthage. 

When the first units from Carthage Fire Department arrived on scene, the front of the home was fully involved. Firefighters had the blaze knocked down in under an hour. 

According to Fire Chief Tyner of Carthage Fire and Rescue, everyone made it out of the home without incident.

The front of the home took on heavy fire and is completely destroyed. The back of the home suffered smoke and water damage. 

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is being investigated by the Moore County Fire Marshall.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

Responding to the fire were Carthage Fire and Rescue, Whispering Pines Fire and Rescue, Eastwood Fire and Rescue, Highfalls Fire and Rescue, Robbins Fire and Rescue, Seven Lakes Fire and Rescue, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Fire Marshall, and the American Red Cross.
