Occupants of a mobile home were able to safely escape after their home caught fire Sunday. Authorities were called to the structure fire in the 400 block of S. Plank Road in Cameron around 1 p.m.

The home is located on the Moore and Lee County line, outside of Carthage. Both Moore and Lee County fire departments responded to the blaze.

The mobile home was completely destroyed by fire damage. It took multiple agencies to respond to the fire as a precaution with the heat.

Firefighters remained on the scene for quite some time as they made sure there were no remaining hot spots.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Moore County Fire Marshal.

Responding to the scene from Moore County was Cypress Point Fire and Rescue, Carthage Fire and Rescue, Whispering Pines Fire and Rescue, N.C. Forestry Service, Moore County EMS, Moore County Public Safety, Moore County Fire Marshal, and Moore County Sheriff’s Department.

Responding from Lee County was Tramway Fire And Rescue, Tramway Rural Fire and Rescue, Lemon Springs Fire and Rescue, and Lee County EMS.
