Former substitute teacher arrested for indecent liberties with a student

A former substitute teacher was arrested for indecent liberties with a student, according to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

“The Moore County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division received a report of an inappropriate relationship between a student and a former substitute teacher at Union Pines High School located in Carthage,” said Fields in a statement on Friday.  “Detectives conducted multiple interviews and executed several search warrants during the investigation.”

Detectives arrested Zachary Trueblood, 23, of Cameron, on Thursday.

Trueblood was charged with indecent liberties with a student and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

The suspect was placed under a $15,000 secured bond, has a court date on June 3, and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
