Gunshot victim airlifted in Eagle Springs

A person who was shot Thursday evening was airlifted to an area trauma center.

Authorities were dispatched to the 4200 block on Big Oak Church Road in Eagle Springs for a gunshot wound shortly after 9 p.m.

A landing zone was set up at Eagle Springs Fire Department where UNC Tar Heel 2 landed a short time later.

Captain Craven with the Moore County Sheriff’s Department said Friday morning this is an ongoing investigation and could not provide any details other than the victim is in stable condition. He is at University of North Carolina Hospitals.

This is the second shooting Sandhills Sentinel has reported in four days.

A gunshot victim was airlifted from Veterans Memorial Field in Carthage Sunday evening.

The victim had driven himself to the Short Stop in Carthage and called for help.

At the time, the man refused to give any information about who shot him or where he was at the time of the shooting.
