A head-on collision occurred on Camp Easter Rd near the intersection with Papa Blue Rd around 6 pm Friday evening. A Chevrolet Truck pulling a boat collided with a Honda sedan with such force the Honda ended up facing in the opposite direction than which it was headed and with extensive damage.
Carolina Air Care was called for the driver of the Honda but was unable to fly due to an approaching storm. The female driver was transported to Moore Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck and his passenger were uninjured in the accident.
Both lanes of traffic were shut down while emergency crews worked. After a short while, one lane of traffic was opened while emergency personnel directed traffic. NC Highway Patrol is on site and is investigating the accident.
Responding to the scene were Whispering Pines Fire & Rescue, Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, and Moore County EMS.
